Here at the Humane League of Lancaster
County, we understand the pain and anxiety of pet loss. To help
pet owners deal with this difficult time, we offer professional,
dignified pet cremation services. The League offers the option
of individual cremations, with the return of ashes, and a selection
of urns.

We request as
much advance notice as possible for private cremations.
Please contact our staff for fees, which vary primarily based on the size of the pet.
Tips for dealing with the
loss of a pet:
Memorialize your pet:
establish a foundation, grant, or make a donation in your
animal's name.
Take up a creative new
hobby
Note three things each
week that made it a good week
Commemorate your pet:
an ad in the paper, or on the Internet.
Write the story of your
pet's life
Encourage children to
talk about the pet, and their feelings of loss
Make a scrapbook of photos
and memories of your pet
Remember that grieving
the loss of a pet is perfectly natural
If you or a loved one
are having difficulty grieving for your pet, consider joining
a pet-loss support group. Contact the League for more resources.
