As of January 1, 2009, the Humane League of Lancaster County can no longer accept stray cats or stray dogs from the townships and boroughs listed below. If you have found a stray in one of these areas, please contact the appropriate number for animal control services.
If you have found a stray cat or dog in Lancaster County that was found in a township or borough that is not listed in the table below, please bring the animal to the Humane League during stray dog and cat admission hours. (Hours and driving directions appear below.)
The Humane League cannot accept stray cats or dogs from the following areas:

From York and Points West: Take Route 30 East toward Lancaster. Continue East on Route 30 past the exit for Park City Mall. Take the Lincoln Highway exit and make a Left at the traffic light in front of the WalMart. You will now be continuing East on Route 30, which is Lincoln Highway. Continue East past the K-Mart shopping center on your Right. After you pass the WaWa gas station on your Right, you will continue straight through one more traffic light and pass Superior Homes (a mobile home manufacturer) on your Left. The Humane League of Lancaster County will be on the Left, immediately after Gish's Furniture Store. If you hit the traffic light at the entrance to the Tanger outlets, you have gone too far.
From Ephrata, Reading, and Points Northeast: Take Route 222 South toward Lancaster. Stay in the Left hand lane to pick up Route 30 East headed towards Philadelphia. Merge onto Route 30 East and continue straight. Take the Lincoln Highway exit and make a Left at the traffic light in front of the WalMart. You will now be continuing East on Route 30, which is Lincoln Highway. Continue East past the K-Mart shopping center on your Right. After you pass the WaWa gas station on your Right, you will continue straight through one more traffic light and pass Superior Homes (a mobile home manufacturer) on your Left. The Humane League of Lancaster County will be on the Left, immediately after Gish's Furniture Store. If you hit the traffic light at the entrance to the Tanger outlets, you have gone too far.
From Elizabethtown, Hershey, and Harrisburg: Follow Route 283 East toward Lancaster. Stay in the left hand lane to merge onto Route 30 East toward Philadelphia. Continue East on Route 30. Take the Lincoln Highway exit and make a Left at the traffic light in front of the WalMart. You will now be continuing East on Route 30, which is Lincoln Highway. Continue East past the K-Mart shopping center on your Right. After you pass the WaWa gas station on your Right, you will continue straight through one more traffic light and pass Superior Homes (a mobile home manufacturer) on your Left. The Humane League of Lancaster County will be on the Left, immediately after Gish's Furniture Store. If you hit the traffic light at the entrance to the Tanger outlets, you have gone too far.
From Quarryville and Points South: Take Rt 272 or Rt 222 North toward Lancaster City. At the Kendig Square Shopping Center in Willow St, those traveling on Rt 222 will turn Right and continue into Lancaster City; those traveling on Rt 272 will continue straight into Lancaster City.
Route 222 becomes Queen St. At the Square in lancaster City, turn Right onto King St. Follow King St out of Lancaster City. King St will become Lincoln Highway, also known as Route 30. Continue straight past the Wal Mart on your Right. After you pass the WaWa gas station on your Right, you will continue straight through one more traffic light and pass Superior Homes (a mobile home manufacturer) on your Left. The Humane League of Lancaster County will be on the Left, immediately after Gish's Furniture Store. If you hit the traffic light at the entrance to the Tanger outlets, you have gone too far.
From Chester County and Points East: Take Route 30 West toward Lancaster. As you enter the Lancaster area, you will pass the Rockvale Outlets on your Right hand side. Continue straight on Route 30 West, also known as Lincoln Highway. You will come to a traffic light at the entrance to the Tanger outlets (on your Left) and a Sonic Restaurant (on your Right). Continue Straight though this traffic light. Get into the right hand lane. The Humane League of Lancaster is almost immediately after this light on the Right hand side. If you come to Superior Homes (a mobile home manufacturer), you have gone too far.
