A HUMANE PENNSYLVANIA PARTNER
The Humane League of Lancaster County is an independent, non-profit charity that is recognized as the area’s leader in animal welfare. Our dedicated staff and volunteers provide compassion and care to thousands of pets each year through a variety of services.
Through the Humane League’s veterinary services and PetNet programs, we are proactively addressing the root causes of pet homelessness and preventing pets from entering shelters in the first place. Our Safe Haven program provides temporary housing for pets in need. When disaster strikes, whether it is a house fire, a personal catastrophe, domestic violence, or a hurricane, pet owners are often faced with an unthinkable dilemma: choosing between their own safety and that of their family or abandoning a beloved family pet. Thanks to the Humane League of Lancaster County’s Safe Haven program, that decision can be made a little easier. Another PetNet program is Ani-Meals On Wheels, a pet food bank program that provides free pet food and supplies to pet owners in need until they can get back on their feet. Our unique foster care program allows to us save even more lives while our partnerships with other rescues and shelters help us place an ever increasing number of animals in permanent and loving homes. Outreach adoption sites and activities also take our animals into the community where they belong.
We value our volunteers, members, and supporters as important contributors to the work that we do. Through working together, we can achieve our vision of creating a humane community where all animals are protected and wanted.
