Dear Friends,

I would like to personally ask you to join us as a 2010 member of the Humane League. Members are the foundation of our mission, a humane effort that can only exist with the enrollment of individuals like yourself. Mackenzie, Felix and Oscar are among hundreds of animals saved by a vital part of this mission, our unique foster care program.

Just four months old, Mackenzie came to us after she broke her front leg. Once she is repaired and stabilized she will be placed into foster care which will provide her with a family who will give her the individual attention to safeguard her recovery. With strong legs and a confident heart, Mackenzie will have no trouble finding her permanent home.

Felix and Oscar were rescued from a hoarder who had over 50 cats in his home. Because neglect is all that they have ever known, they are fearful of humans. In a regular shelter setting, they would not be likely to attract attention and win someone’s heart. A foster home will provide them with the opportunity to learn that humans can give love, attention and plenty of food. With a new attitude, they will be able to find a safe and secure home.

In 2009, nearly 800 animals were cared for in our foster care program. These animals would not have had a chance at being adopted without the specialized care they received with our foster families. By joining us as a member, you will become part of this life saving program. Your support will allow us to save even more lives in the year to come.
