- Email a recent picture of your pet to lostdog@humaneleague.com or lostcat@humaneleague.com
- Come to the HLLC: Due to the risk of misidentification over the phone and due to the many animals we receive on a daily basis, we strongly urge you to come to the shelter and walk through our facility to verify that your pet is not here.
- Create a missing pet flyer and post it around your neighborhood

- Contact other local shelters: If you live in a township or borough that does not contract with the HLLC for animal control services, and your pet is picked up by a PA State Dog Warden, he/she may be taken to a shelter in a neighboring county. (Click here for a lost of townships and boroughs that do not contract with us.)

Did you find an animal?
If you have found a stray animal, please use the Lost/Found Report Form located in the sidebar on the right. You can also contact the shelter at (717) 393‑6551 to fill out a found report. If you are unable to care for the animal until an owner is found and you need to bring the animal to the Humane League, please note that we are only able to accept stray animals from townships and boroughs who have contracted with us to provide animal control services.
If you have found an animal in an area that has chosen not to contract with the HLLC to provide housing and care for its stray animals, you will need to contact the specific borough or municipality in which the animal was found. Husky/Yellow Lab mix. Looks more like a husky but has the color of a yellow lab. Approximately 80 lbs.

small ,adult, pomerain male dog. 6–8 pounds. was not neutered. Was given on a trial basis, with the understanding & agreement, that if it didnt work out, she was to return him. back in June 2011. Person NEVER returned him to owner She gave him away a month or two later !! Owner became aware of this on Dec. 13,2011. this person was informing owner, that he was fine all this time !!Gizmo is registraed with his owner. Rascal is a small yellowish white half pommeranian half poodle with a light brown nose, and hazel eyes. He was last seen out my families house on Friday July 22nd. We miss him so much.

Found dog at the Garden Court Apartments complex this morning, 2/9/12, around 10:15 a.m. Looks like Poodle or Yorkie mix, short blonde curly hair with a red does collar and red collar usually used to hold tags/leash. Very friendly, about 5–8 lbs. Good with my 3 yr old daughter...
Female Beagle, very friendly. Found in the Brownstown area. Being held at the West Earl Township building at 157 W. Metzler Road in Brownstown.
26 pounds, Older dog. Very shy and not very trusting. She was found wandering around in the pouring rain in a rural area. I believe she may have been dumped.. she had no collar but the mark was in her fur that said there WAS a collar on her at one time, nails are not super long so they have been trimmed, and she did very well with getting a bath so she is used to that as well. She was very cold and very scared! She is constantly whining at the door, she misses her people terribly!
Dalmatian/Pitbull Mix?, She is definitely a dalmatian mixed with something else, small-medium size, very thin, black and white, black ears, white legs with black spots, black tail w/white tip, also black spots on face. Very sweet, friendly, female. She walks nice on leash, has an excellent temperament, she seems to really like people and kids.

Found 50lbs mix breed female. She appears to possibley be a mix between hound dog, pit bull and Shar pei. She appears to be 1–2 yrs old.

Black & White Male Border Collie Mix (Not fixed — Young maybe 1yr.?) Very friendly & follows commands sit, lay, stay, give paw. Found wandering Deems Park Rd. in Daisytown, PA (Bentelyville area) 11/25/11. Front paws white & larger than his back paws. Mostly black with white on chest & paws, white on tip of tail & tip of his nose.
The Dog is golden colored with the face of a Bullmastiff, but is most likely mixed with something. Has the dark haired nose and black nails. Looks like he'll be pretty big.

Beautiful Femaile Pitbull found on Auction road near bed and furniture warehouse and the Laserdome in Mount Joy PA. Brindle, white, and brown. Dog was wearing an orange collar. Dog knows the sit and shake commands and knows to use the bathroom outside. She is very sweet towards people.

Stubby is a short, stocky, light orange, short haired cat.He usually has gunk in his eyes like dirt. He is approximately just over the age of two years old. He has a defect on the top of his tail. It almost looks like he had an injury to it when he was younger. He is a friendly cat. He also is not neutered. We dont own Stubby but he has been apart of our family since he was a kitten. He was born to a stray cat in our neighborhood and we have taken care of him ever since. Stubby is an outside cat who comes to our house to visit and to eat every day a couple times a day but unfortunately we havent seen him in almost a week.

He is a furry Maine Coon, pretty large. About 3 years old. His back is black and he fades to stripes on his face and on his body and legs. His ears have little black tufts of fur on the tips. He has yellow eyes. He is very friendly and will probably come to you if you call his name. He does have claws, but does not usually use them.

Hines is a two year old male cat. He is orange with white on his chest and paws. He is a very friendly cat and loves to play. He is neutered but not declawed. Hines is an indoor cat and has never been outside before this. We think a door didn't close properly and he must have been curious. Hines is a little chubby, is well loved and very much missed!
Lucy is a domestic shorthair. Gray with some striping and tortoise shell coloring. Lucy is 7 years old and has all her claws but she is not wearing anything that would identify her as she is strictly an inside pet. She is about 10 lbs. with a smallish face and big green eyes. She is very wary of dogs and people. She was last seen outside our house on Oct 24. She has never been outside before.
Riley is a grey and white neutered male cat, about 12 years old. He has white on his paws, nose, and chest. No collar. Green eyes. He is being treated for an allergic reaction, and is missing some hair on his neck and belly. He's very friendly, especially to people. He's been an indoor cat only. He loves having his nose rubbed.

Orange kitty, very friendly and loves people. We found him at our Dutch Cousin Campground campsite. He first showed up on Sunday, January 8th and hung around all day. We fed him and left to go home to NJ. He returned again this past Sunday, January 15th. He hung around our campsite all day until it go dark. We decided to bring him back home to NJ with us so he could be warm and be fed.

Medium to large sized short hair cat. Dark brown/black, mixed with tan, and white under chin and belly. White front paws and 1/2 of back legs. What looks to be a bite mark (two teeth) on left ear. Quite friendly, meows a lot.
Young dark charcoal colored shorthaired male cat. He is extremely affectionate, friendly, very lovey, purrs quickly and loves to eat. He is neutered; front declawed and rear claws are trimmed. He has a small white spot on his lower belly and even smaller white spots under both of his front “armpits”. He loves to have his belly rubbed. He has been living under a tarp covering our deck furniture for approx. the past 2 weeks. I have never heard him growl or hiss at hte other cat that visits our deck. As much as I’d like to, I cannot bring him indoors as we have 2 other cats (brother and sister) and they would not be very appreciative.

10–15 lbs., 5 years old, All black except for a few white hairs on his chest and inside the ears. Answers to Midnight or Mini-night. Loves the sound of cat food/treats in a container and jingle bell balls. Can be scared easily. Fights when picked up because he's scared, but is friendly to children.

Black and white 3 legged cat, no signs of scars or trauma so it was either born missing a leg or well cared for. Supper friendly and almost certainly a house cat, the one front paw is declawed.
Very friendly grey and white striped cat with green eyes. First found in June with a blue collar that had a small bell on it. Has since lost its collar and continues to live outside our home. We have fed him and give him attention as much as possible but cannot adopt him. Appears to be neutered. Is starting to become more withdrawn so we hope to find its owner soon!
